Kitchen & Dining

Small kitchen appliances and cookware from Chinese manufacturers are frequently the same factory output as mid-market Western brands, sold direct at a fraction of the price. Electrical certification and material safety are the two filters that matter.

Kitchen appliances and cookware

Voltage and plug first. Most Chinese domestic appliances are 220-240V only. A 220V-only appliance in a 120V market either will not work or will not work safely. Confirm the listing says dual-voltage or matches your grid.

Food-contact material declarations. Stainless steel grade (304 vs 201), non-stick coating type (PTFE/PFOA-free claim), and whether coatings are certified for food contact. Vague listings are a real risk here.

Cookware on induction. Confirm the base is magnetic. Many Chinese-market pans are gas-only.

Consumables and accessories availability. Coffee machine gaskets, blender seals, and pressure-cooker rings are the parts that fail. Check the brand sells them in your region.

Warranty on motors. For anything with a motor, the warranty length is the manufacturer's own statement about the bearing quality. Two years or more suggests they expect it to last.
